Pre-test and Post-test: Purpose and Best Practices
Why we have pre and post tests and how to use them effectively for learning and credit.
Pre-test
- Purpose: Establish your baseline knowledge before the lecture.
- Take it before listening to the audio.
- Can be taken only once.
- After submission you see your score, which questions you got right/wrong, and how other learners performed.
- Strongly recommended as part of the learning process (not required for credit).
Post-test
- Purpose: Demonstrate knowledge gained and qualify for credit.
- Must be taken after completing the audio + summary/suggested reading.
- Requires ≥80% to pass and claim credit.
- You may retake most post-tests as many times as needed.
- CRNA exception: Only one submission allowed due to the testing mechanism.
